How often should you service your car?

03 Oct 2026 · 1 min read
A car with a service checklist

Most car makers suggest a periodic service about once a year or every 10,000 km, whichever comes first. The exact interval for your car is in the owner's manual or service booklet, so check it there.

Service sooner if you notice

  • A warning light on the dashboard
  • Squealing or grinding when you brake
  • The car pulling to one side
  • Unusual smoke, smells or leaks under the car
  • The AC not cooling like it used to

What a periodic service usually covers

A typical periodic service includes fresh engine oil and an oil filter, cleaning or replacing the air filter, topping up fluids, and checking the brakes, battery, tyres and lights.

With a doorstep service you don't lose half a day at a workshop. The technician works in your parking, photographs each step and leaves you a health report, so you know exactly what was done.
